Great campsite with excellent facilities.
The Kilcoy Showgrounds is a great place to stay if you are visiting Kilcoy. They have spacious grassy sites and cater to all-size rigs. There is a large mostly level grass patch to the left as you drive in, which is the preferred area to set up camp. The sites all have power and water, and there is no difference in the price.
The grounds are shared with the Racing Club, and for this reason, there is no camping permitted on Race Days, as the main area turns into a car park. The racing calendar is subject to change, therefore it is highly recommended that you RING AHEAD before attending to make sure it is not a race day. However, they will permit you to arrive late on race days after everyone has left.
SITE ACCESS
The Showgrounds are located just on the outskirts of town. Access is via the D’Aguilar Highway, right on the intersection of Esk-Kilcoy Road, which leads to Lake Somerset. As you drive into the grounds, you will see the caretaker’s residence right near the entrance. They would like you to check-in before proceeding to your site if they are there, if not, set up and they will come to you.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Fees are a flat rate of $17 per night per site, regardless of whether it is powered or unpowered.
