Gordon Country Caravans and Camping (CP)

Gordon Country Caravans and Camping is set on more than 4,000 acres in the Goomburra Valley. Gordon Country is a private working cattle property that borders on the Great Dividing Range. The magnificent countryside incorporates large beautiful reaches of a rain forest ideal for bushwalks and encroaches into the Heritage-listed Main Range National Park. Gordon Country offers a peaceful and family-friendly rustic getaway, whether you are camping in a tent or your caravan or staying in one of the cabins.

The campground has a very spacious powered and non-powered site, the perfect location for holidaying in your caravan, camper trailer, or by pitching a tent. It is located along the creek, offering a true bush camping experience. There is also have a range of accommodation to choose from as we realised that not everyone is a pure camper.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Ipswich turn north onto Goomburra Road 18.2km west of the Fisher Park Roadhouse; from Warwick turn left into Clintoval-Goomburra Road, 7.2km east of the New England/Cunningham Highway junction, and follow this to Goomburra Road.
From Toowoomba turn left into Goomburra Road 3.6km south of Allora.

Proceed to the crossroads with North Branch Road and Inverramsay Road (Goomburra Park) and proceed/turn into Inverramsay Road heading east. Follow the road for 20.6km and the signed driveway is on the left.

SITE ACCESS
Head straight in off the road and there will be a sign for the onsite office, head inside, and the friendly staff will check you in.

Fee is from $30/night per couple for unpowered sites and $36/night per couple for powered sites.

$10 car pass OR $30 4wding pass (only pay if 4wding).

RULES
No dirt bikes, four-wheelers, or any other motorbikes are permitted.
Ensure you have your printed receipt
Collect your firewood from designated firewood collection sites
Any off-track four-wheel driving will be dealt with and you may be asked to leave
Horses only allowed after individual application and approval by owners-$12/horse/day unless by arrangement for clubs
Guests must have a certificate/license to use chainsaws

Gordon Country provides an endless and eclectic array of activities. Whether it’s the relaxation you want and reading a book by a running creek, or getting active and hiking to one of the many mountain peaks, rest assured you won’t be disappointed with the adventure or laid-back selections.  There are also some great 4WD tracks.

You may also visit Darling Downs Zoo, Queensland’s major regional zoo. The zoo is privately owned located midway between Toowoomba and Warwick, offering a vast array of fascinating wildlife.
