Camp near the Hotham River
The Shire of Boddington implemented its FREE RV Camping zone in 2013 as a way to attract visitors to their town. As a town, they knew they had something special to offer but had to find a way to encourage visitors to turn off the highway and venture into town. RV Camping did exactly this. The RV area has been very successful in sharing how beautiful this little town is. Situated alongside the Hotham River and close to the town centre, visitor centre, community resource centre, and caravan park, tourists can enjoy a safe and shady spot for up to 48 hours while they explore the surrounding areas. The RV area has also been a great way to show off the beautiful Boddington Caravan Park and the Shire has found that users of the RV areas are discovering the park and returning to book in on their next visit.
Food – 4 cafes offering a diverse range of products from Fish and Chips and Cheese Sausages to Quinoa and Broccoli Fritters, Quiches & pies as well as steak sandwiches and burgers. Located along the main street and also within the visitors centre you can sit and enjoy local cuisine and chat to the locals or grab something to take away.
Shopping – IGA is open 7 days as is the Boddington Hardware and Newsagency. Butcher, bakery, and local fruit and vege shop along with post office, gift shops, and hairdressers. It really is all here for you.
