Set amongst the pastures and sheoaks on this beautiful property, perfect for running horses, this 9 bay nature based park just off the Albany highway about an hour south of Perth is a great spot for a quiet break in the country.

As a ‘Nature Based Park’, it is suitable for self-contained campers, with room to accommodate anything from tents and vans to big rigs. The park has no power or water available, so you’ll have to bring them with you. Portable toilets and generators, however, are available for hire at the property if necessary, and you’ll find all your essential supplies and facilities obtainable at the nearby town of Boddington.

The sites are level and mostly drive through, making set-up easy. Once you’ve settled in, apart from the lovely views from the sites themselves, the 341 acre property has some lovely walks and stunning scenery to be enjoyed, like a stroll down to the Crossman River for a swim, spectacular rocky granite outcrops and native flora and fauna. Nearby Crossman Wildflower Reserve is also popular with visitors.

The outdoor bar-b-que and the shed, complete with pot belly stove, are popular with campers to sit and relax and spin a yarn or two about their travels.

The aptly named Armoin (pronounced Ar-mow-in) is Gaelic for harmony, and the experience lives up to the name – you’ll feel relaxed and in harmony with the natural surroundings during your stay here. The park can also cater for weddings and other functions.

HOW TO GET THERE
Don’t type the address into google as it doesn’t send you to the right place it sends you KMs away, type Armoin into google.

From Armadale to Armoin
From Armadale travel south along Albany Highway. You will pass both Bannister and North Bannister, then the old (unused) Crossman Roadhouse site keep driving south. After Crossman there is an overtaking lane please let people past you as we are the driveway on the left about 400m past the END of the overtaking lane. After the lane closes we are the only driveway on the left before the Crossman Bridge. We also have 2 flags at the entrance and the property number is 9721.
If you pass the property accidentally please go over the bridge and turn right into South Crossman road and make a U turn on the intersection (it is a very large corner/intersection).

SITE ACCESS
Head down the driveway you will see a disclaimer sign, follow directions on the sign. Campsites are about 800m to 1km from the main drag, you will do a U-turn at the dump point. You will be greeted there by staff and shown where to park, as there is no reception. If no one comes within 10 mins just give them a call.

FEES & BOOKINGS
$20/night(2 adults/2 children) and concessions from $15pn.

THINGS TO DO
Experience horsemanship, swim in the river, walk through the bush, be entertained or simply sit back in the shade and relax, Armoin is committed to developing a destination that will impress.

We have stayed several times, the hosts are very friendly. The first time we camped, we were taken on a tour of the property, given the history and an overview of their hopes for the future of the property. Camping in warmer weather meant a swim in the river, our sons and their sons hired the kayaks and had a fun couple of hours. On the long weekends that we stayed, there was entertainment on at least one of the nights. Other visitors have been friendly as we all share the love of camping. We highly recommend Armoin for a stay, although there is a phone and internet signal, our grandsons we too busy having fun to be interested in their iPads.
