Great overnight stop.
Located only 700m from the center of town is the Blackbutt Sports Center, which is now offering a great Free Rest Area for travellers. The rest area is at the rear of the sports centre which opens up into a large flat grassy area. The sites are all reasonably level and there is plenty of room with a nice outlook. The site will fit all size units, from tents to Big Rigs. There are some shaded sites towards the front, but most are in a sunny position ideal for solar panels. And, they welcome pets but ask they are kept on a leash.
The added advantage of staying here is the Café & Chinese Restaurant, which are both on the premises. They are also a licensed Sports Centre, with Squash Courts, Gym, Yoga, Tai Chi, and Karate Classes. Also on the premises is a small Florist, Gift Shop and Natures “Knot Art Gallery”
Being a Free site, they would welcome your patronage at the Centre.
ACCESS
Is off the D’Aguilar Highway about 600m west of Blackbutt. Turn into Janice Street, then first left into the driveway. Drive through the bitumen car park and onto the grassed area. Please remain in the top area, as the bottom area can get a bit soft.
