Set on the shores of Yambuk Lake just off the highway and adjacent to Victoria’s rugged and picturesque southern coastline, this park is a water lover’s delight, just out of Port Fairy and along the road to/from Portland. From swimming, boating and fishing in the lake for trout and redfin to strolling along the beach for views of the jagged limestone cliffs, or trying your luck for an ocean catch, there is something to keep everyone occupied. There is even a giant slide onto the sand for the kids (and the young at heart!).

Yambuk is a relaxed rural area just a short drive from the historic township of Port Fairy. This peaceful park in an idyllic location has all that you require for a relaxing stay whilst reconnecting with nature. Nestled beside the tranquil Yambuk Lake, you can pitch your tent or pull up your caravan and sit back and enjoy the serenity.

The park has all the facilities you’d expect in a well-run, clean campground, and the large, open spaces mean there’s plenty of room to set-up for everything from tents and trailers to motorhomes and big rigs. There are powered and unpowered sites available. The park is set high on the lake shore, giving all the sites lovely views over the lake or surrounding countryside.

Areas around Yambuk and nearby Codrington have been developed into large scale windfarms that are an integral part of the state’s electricity supply network, and the giant windmills dotted about are an impressive sight.

The lake and coastal area provide great opportunities for the birdwatchers and twitchers and a visit to ‘The Crags’ provides views along the coast and also out to Australia’s only off shore volcano site, Lady Julia Percy Island. There are some great opportunities for the camera buffs in the area.

Your well behaved pet is also welcome at Yambuk Lake Caravan Park.

HOW TO GET THERE

Nice spot BUT windy as heck! We had to lower the pop top van one day in fear it would blow off, guess this why the wind farm is close by!
