Woody Head Campground – Bundjalung National Park (CG)

There are a total of 95 sites at this location. The location is suitable for Caravans, Camper Trailers, Camping beside my vehicle, and Tents.

Woody Head is a campground with the lot – you can pitch your tent, park your caravan or book a cabin to enjoy a pleasure-packed beach escape for the weekend or longer.

It’s a great place for a family holiday, with a protected sandy beach that’s ideal for swimming and fishing, a boat ramp and the spectacular rock platform. There are heaps of other things to do as well and children and adults alike will love exploring the rainforest and shallow reefs around the campground. There’s also a boat ramp for those who’ve brought their boat along, great places for fishing and water babies will love being so close to the beach. There is one designated group camping area and the campground is wheelchair accessible. Please bring all supplies with you or you can purchase additional items in Iluka.

SITE ACCESS
2WD (no long vehicle access) – All weather.
Woody Head campground is in Bundjalung National Park. To get there: From the north take Iluka Road turnoff 72km south of Ballina on Pacific Highway. From the south take Iluka Road turn off 56km north of Grafton. Drive along Illuka Road through Woombah over the Esk River Bridge for 13km then follow the signs to Bundjalung National Park and Woody Head campground.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Vehicle entry fee: $7 per vehicle per day. Please note vehicle entrance fees are not included in your accommodation or camping fees. Purchase at the local office or buy an annual pass online.
Camping Seasons: Peak (minimum 1-week stay Sat to Sat); NSW & QLD school holidays;
Off-peak; outside NSW & QLD school holidays. Woody Head campsites $28 per night (2-person inclusive). $14 per night per additional adult (16 years+), $7 per night per additional child (5-15 years), infants free (0-4 years).
Woody Head group campsite $160 per night (for 10 people) $14 per night per additional adult (16 years+), $7 per night per additional child (5-15 years), infants free (0-4 years).
Woody Head Hall $30 half day, $60 full day.
All reservations incur a booking fee of 2.5% in addition to the total amount payable.
Reservations can be made for any arrival within the next 12 months.

FACILITIES
Amenities block, Wood barbecues (firewood supplied), Boat ramp, Cafe/kiosk, Drinking water, Picnic tables, Public phone, Hot showers, Flush toilets.

RULES
There’s a pay phone near the office – mobile service is intermittent.
Check-in after 2pm, Check-out by 10am.
All campsites at Woody Head campground are unpowered
There is an exclusive group campsite available for up to 20 people – fees apply.
Town water is available.
The beaches at Bundjalung National Park are not patrolled and may have strong rips or currents – take care in the water and please supervise children at all times.
Visitors are encouraged to bring gas or fuel stoves, especially in summer during the fire season.
Firewood and ice are available at the Woody Head office.
NSW national parks are now no smoking areas.
Pets and domestic animals (other than certified assistance animals) are not permitted, as per the OEH policy.
Generators are not permitted.
Until further notice, the kiosk at Woody Head will be closed.
A current NSW recreational fishing licence is required when fishing in all NSW waters.
