Woodland Campground – West MacDonnell National Park (Tjoritja) (CG)

The Woodland Campground is one of the two camp sites in Redbank Gorge located within the West MacDonnell National Park (Tjoritja) and nestled at the base of Mount Sonder, this stunning gorge and chasm is a refuge for many threatened plant and animal species. Redbank Gorge also provides a refreshing stop and a chance to stretch your legs on a short walk.

SITE ACCESS
Redbank Gorge is located 156 km west of Alice Springs. Access is via Namatjira Drive, sealed roads. The 5 km access road from the Redbank Gorge turnoff to Redbank Gorge is unsealed and a high clearance vehicle is recommended.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Spaces are limited and operate on a first come, first served basis.
The overnight fee is: $3.30/adult, $1.65/child (5-15 years), $7.70/family (2 adults and 4 children).
Camping fees apply and are payable onsite.

FACILITIES
Toilets, picnic tables, gas and wood barbecues, drinking water, information, and caravan sites.

THINGS TO DO
There are many opportunities for visitors to explore and appreciate the scenic beauty and history of the area. For visitors travelling on the Red Centre Way, Redbank Gorge also provides a refreshing stop and a chance to stretch your legs on a short walk.

Keep to designated roads and tracks.
All historic, cultural items and wildlife are protected.
