Vintner’s Secret Vineyard is a small vineyard in the Wide Bay Region (in Childers) and are happy to offer free short stay camping for fully self-contained campers in exchange for light farming duties and assistance on the property. Sites are limited so if you would like to stay and help out it is best to contact in advance.

It is a full working farm with a small café attached. We are always looking for a helping hand with different tasks including pet care, gardening, mowing and hospitality. We understand that each person will have their own unique gifts to offer and we are happy with that and would welcome travellers to stop with us for a while and enjoy the experience.

In return for your assistance we would offer sites for fully self-contained caravans or motorhomes with some power and water supplied. The sites are on very slight sloping land adjacent to the vines OR in a large flat area near the entrance. The sites are well grassed and well maintained and mowed.

We are open to discussing all terms personally with anyone that may be interested. If interested please write to us via the contact details below, or ring on the numbers provided in this listings.

HOW TO GET THERE
Childers is located directly on the Bruce Highway between Gladstone to the north, Maryborough to the south, and Bundaberg to the east. To get to the Winery, head into the CBD and then into Ridgeway Street just near the Peanut Van. Drive past the high school and follow the signs to the vineyard, which is approximately 1.35km east of the town centre. Look for the entrance on your left hand side which is well sign posted.

SITE ACCESS
Once at the site, drive up a gently sloping driveway, approx. 500m long and look for the large sign Vintners Secret Vineyard where you will see a large area of grass and mango trees to park. Then please go to the cellar door and let the owners know you have arrived and they will guide you to your site.

FEES & BOOKINGS
There are no fees involved if you are Helping Out on the Winery, but all arrangements must be made prior to arrival. Please contact us direct via details below to discuss further.

THINGS TO DO
Vineyard and Tours are available on demand of the four local wineries in the area.  Tours of the township with a guide may also be organised.

At the vineyard, there are lovely walks through the 6 acres of land and vineyards. You may also interact with the many hand fed farm animals which are all tame and include, miniature Dexter cows, horses, alpacas, dogs, geese, and a pig.

There is also a small Gift Shop on site consisting of decor items and local produce including Jams & Chutneys.

The café has Tea, Coffee and Cakes available and meals, cheese plates, or picnic hampers may be organised for groups by appointment.
