Urana Freedom Camping “In the middle of everywhere” is a small community run campsite.
The sites are suitable for fully self contained vehicles only, and spread over two separate areas. The grassed area is best when dry, but the asphalt area is available in wet weather. There are no powered sites, and it is pet friendly.
The campsite has been set up and run by volunteers of Urana Inc with all money collected going towards community projects.
Urana has had floods in recent years and there are sadly still signs of this however it is well provided for with a Hotel, Cafe, Bowling Club, Post Office, Doctors and Pharmacy, as well as basic groceries, rural supplies, fuel and real estate.
HOW TO GET THERE
With five major roads leading into Urana, it depends from which direction you are coming. But, once in the town area, the campground is located to the south of town on the main highway called Federation Way. Keep an eye out for the old water tower with the Giant Spider Sculpture and the entrance is near that.
SITE ACCESS
The entrance is via Victoria Park and is marked with a big yellow flag. Once in you can drive to the caretaker’s cottage and let them know you have arrived.
FEES AND BOOKINGS
Fees are $10/night.
