Trunketabella Gardens (CG)

Trunketabella Gardens offers travellers a private and exclusive off-the-grid camping experience in one of the most beautifully unique garden properties on the south coast of NSW. Set on 40 acres, the gardens back onto the Trunketabella Creek, making this a relaxing and peaceful place to stay while you explore the surrounds of the property and the amazing Eurobodalla Region.

There are two unpowered camping areas that are best suited to fully self contained and self sufficient campers and one site suitable for caravans and RV’s with the option to connect to power. Sites offer plenty of shade, serenading birds, water, mountain or garden views and beautiful sunsets. Bookings are essential as they are capped to ensure you are able to enjoy the space and tranquility without being overcrowded.

There are no showers onsite, but as the demand for camping grows at Trunketabella Gardens, so will what you are offered in the way of amenities. Currently there are two plumbed toilets, a camp kitchen with a stove, oven, toaster, kettle and tank water etc, all available for guests to use.

There are fire pits with a barrow of wood provided and extra wood available for purchase, picnic tables, lovely trails to walk and beautiful gardens to enjoy. The creek is salt water, tidal and fed from the Tuross Lake water and perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing and fishing.

For any essential or medical needs, you are best to visit the well serviced town of Moyura only 13km from Trunketabella.

Trunketabella Gardens not only boasts a place to camp in peace and tranquillity, they  also offer you a truly magical location to host any special celebration or occasion from Birthdays, Family Reunions to Engagements and Weddings. A D.I.Y venue which gives you the freedom to style and cater your celebration exactly how you want to.

HOW TO GET THERE
Trunketabella Gardens is located on the western side of the Princes Highway at Bodalla, 2.5 hours from Canberra and 4.5 hours from Sydney. From Bodalla, travel north on the Princes Highway for approx 5km. From Moyura travel south for approx 13km.

SITE ACCESS
The entrance is directly off the western side of the highway. Look for the large pink Trunketabella Gardens sign.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Fee is from $15/night per person, $7.50/night for Children 12 years & under.
Additional $5/night for power.
Bookings are essential. Please call or visit the website listed below to book.

Day Visit Birdwatching is $15 per car by appointment only.

THINGS TO DO
Trunketabella Gardens Bird Watching
With recorded sightings of approximately 127 different types of birds seen on the property and a diverse mix of garden, bush, forest and wetlands, Trunketabella Gardens is a bird lovers paradise. Bird watching is by-appointment-only only to keep traffic flow to a minimum. A fee of $15 per car applies for a truly magical way to spend the day enjoying the ambiance, having a picnic and enjoying the stillness that comes with bird watching.

Coman’s Mine
An interesting part of the region’s gold mining history, it has a walking trail that will take you through this historic site with many artifacts, including a pile of quartz rocks along the path.

Bodalla Forest Rest Area
Surrounded by tall spotted gums, it is a great spot for a family picnic with walking tracks and is located in Bodalla State Forest.

Artisans Nest Gallery
Artist run gallery featuring some of the region’s finest fibre artists and craftspeople.

Bodalla Dairy Cheese Factory
Look through the Bodalla Dairy’s factory window and learn about the dairy industry from videos and old equipment in the factory’s museum. Taste and buy cheeses in the Dairy Shed Café and enjoy other fun-dairy activities.
