The Diggings Campground – Crediton State Forest (CG)

Camp beside Broken River.

The Diggings camping area tall trees shade a grassy clearing near Broken River. The camping area can be reached by 4WD vehicles.
Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.
Campsites are suitable for tent camping next to your car.
Campsite surface: grass.

SITE ACCESS
The campsite is 9.5 km west of Broken River off the Eungella Dam Road.
From Mackay, drive 80 km west along the Mackay-Eungella Road to Eungella township. At the head of the valley, the road winds sharply and steeply up the Clarke Range not recommended for caravans. When you reach Eungella township at the top of the range, follow the road sweeping left through Eungella National Park to Crediton State Forest.
The Diggings is 9.5 km from Broken River off Eungella Dam Road via Diggings Road. Diggings Road is rough, unsealed, and in wet conditions is only suitable for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park, there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Onsite bookings are through Mackay Regional Council.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.85 per person per night or $27.40 per family group per night.
$3.75 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free. Read more about CAMPING COSTS & BOOKINGS.

There are toilets facilities on this site.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
