Spicers Gap camping area features small, grassy area set in a clearing on the eastern side of Spicers Gap. Short walking tracks and walking trails can be found here. 2WD conventional vehicle (during dry weather only) and 4WD. Access is via Spicers Gap Road, which leaves the Cunningham Highway 5 km west of Aratula. Unsuitable for buses, caravans or large campervans.
Number of sites: Open area without separately-defined sites. Maximum of 50 people.
Camp sites are suitable for: walk-in camping.
Camp site surface: Grass.

SITE ACCESS
Eastern side of the Main Range and to the south of Cunninghams Gap.
Cunninghams Gap and Spicers Gap
Main Range National Park is 116 km south-west of Brisbane and 50 km east of Warwick. The Cunningham Highway crosses the park at Cunninghams Gap and provides access to the northern part of the park, which includes visitor facilities and walks at Cunninghams Gap and Goomburra.
The eastern approach to Spicers Gap is suitable for conventional vehicles and is reached via Lake Moogerah Road, which leaves the Cunningham Highway 5 km west of Aratula, then Spicers Gap Road. Spicers Gap Road ends at Governors Chair car park.
The western approach towards Spicers Gap is suitable only for high-clearance 4WD vehicles and should be avoided in wet weather. Spicers Gap Road leaves the southern side of the Cunningham Highway 4.5 km west of Cunninghams Gap. The road ends at the Mount Mathieson car park. Gates must be left as found. Vehicles are to remain on Spicers Gap Road at all times.
Spicers Gap Road does not provide vehicle access across the range.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Try to book in advance for public holidays. If you wish to extend your stay, you must re-book.
Fees for camping permits are:
$5.75 per person per night or $23.00 per family group per night.
$3.20 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
