Scamander Tourist Park (CP)

Scamander Tourist Park is located on the beautiful north east coast of Tasmania. Whether it is a short stroll along a secluded beach, or any water activities that you may fancy, like swimming, fishing, or boating, it will be available close to this beautiful park.

Tasmania is almost 40% National Parks, Conservation areas and the like, so if you’d prefer a walk through some of the pristine beauty of the local natural flora, enjoying some magnificent views as you go, you are never far away from an opportunity.

Take a short trip to the nearby town of St. Marys, with its spectacular mountain scenery, close-by forest walks and some beautiful old architecture. World famous Freycinet Bay National Park and the Bay of Fires are a beautiful day trip option while staying at the park.

Many of the grassy sites at the park have great ocean views, and while some are more sheltered and shady, others are more open and make it a bit easier for the solar panels to be positioned more effectively. There are unpowered sites ideal for the campers, powered sites for the caravans and motor homes etc., and right up to budget and deluxe 1 and 2 bedroom cabins available, so there is plenty of choice to cater for your needs.

A pub, shops and a sporting complex are all within walking distance.

The park has all the amenities you’d expect to make your stay comfortable – bbq’s, laundry, camp kitchen etc. A dump point is also available.

While the park itself is pet friendly, please check before taking your dogs etc to any National Parks and the like, as exclusions may apply.

HOW TO GET THERE
Coming from the South we are situated 500m on the left after the Scamander River Bridge, just after the IGA complex.
Coming from the North we are situated just before the IGA complex on the right hand side.

SITE ACCESS
Turn in at Park sign follow driveway. Ample parking for all cars and caravans in front of Office.

Fee is from $25/night per couple for unpowered sites and $35/night per couple for powered sites.

Winifred Curtis Reserve – wildflowers and local flora (10mins south)
St Helens – all the facilities of a larger town (20mins north)
St Marys – pretty town at the top of St Marys Pass (20mins)
Ironhouse Brewery – boutique brewery, bistro, restaurant and al-fresco dining (20mins south)
