Redbank Waterhole Campground- Owen Springs Reserve (CG)

Redbank Waterhole Campground is located along the Hugh River. Get to enjoy the sandy banks of the river near the camp site. Located within the Owen Springs Reserve that has fast become a favourite location for 4WD visitors seeking quiet bush camping.

SITE ACCESS
The Reserve is located approximately 40 minutes drive southwest of Alice Springs and can be accessed via the Stuart Highway, 66 kilometers south of Alice Springs. The main access track through the Reserve closely follows John McDouall Stuart’s route through Central Australia.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping Fee per night: Adults: $3.30, Child (5-15 years): $1.65
Family (2 adults, 4 children): $7.70

FACILITIES
There are no facilities on this campground.

THINGS TO DO
In several places large waterholes remain long after rain, and present outstanding opportunities for camping, picnicking, and birdwatching . The appeal of the Hugh River is enhanced by the scenery of the adjoining rocky gorges and red sand country.

RULES
Dead fallen wood may be collected from the riverbanks as firewood in the Reserve and used sparingly for small fires in the camping areas only.
Wood must not be taken out of the Reserve. Help protect habitat for wildlife.
