Many showgrounds offer affordable and convenient locations to camp, especially for larger RV’s. Many will also permit pets. However, many showgrounds are closed at certain times of the year due to the Annual Show or other events. It is always best to check their web site or call ahead to avoid disappointment.

Council allows camping at the Ravenswood Showgrounds/Camping Reserve.

We stayed at Ravenswood showgrounds July 2014 for 3 weeks a great place to rest and relax park away from the big trees in the nth west crn as bats are around, there showers, toilets and power. The PO sells fuel, food Have a look around town as a tourist the pubs put on a good meal and spend some hard earned in the town this keeps the economy going. Don’t forget a trip down to the Burdekin Dam there is a c/van park but no shops or Fuel /
