Great free campground with a view of the beach.
The northern section of the Bay of Fires Conservation Area – Policemans Point campground is located south of Anson Bay. The campground has numerous campsites nestled among trees with views of the Ansons Bay river mouth. It is not possible to cross the outlet of Ansons Bay. Campers are encouraged to bring fire pots for use when fire restrictions are not in place. The maximum stay is four weeks.
The Bay of Fires Conservation Area offers free beach-side camping. Camping is permitted only in designated campgrounds. There are also more elevated sites among the trees that have views of the shoreline.
HOW TO GET THERE
The northern section is accessed from St Helens by taking Ansons Bay Road (C843) travelling via the Priory. Alternatively, travel east from Gladstone on North Ansons Road (C83) the junction with Ansons Bay Road. Turn east into Policemans Point Road and follow the road approximately 5 km until it ends at the Policemans Point campground.

There is no charge for the use of this facility, so if you are staying at this site we encourage you to help keep it clean and tidy.
