We’ve all walked through this marvellous Australian bush at times, but have you ever wondered what the name of that tree or wildflower is? Or what bird or animal was making that call you could hear? Meet William, who will take you on an overnight hike through a selection of his favourite locations in the bush around Sydney and the Blue Mountains. His enthusiasm, combined with his geographic and horticultural background, ensure that his bushwalking and camping tours are both informative and entertaining.

William’s guided tour of the Mountains, for example, will include a visit to the Three Sisters and the Glow Worm Tunnel, as well as a few stops at some of the interesting villages along the way, before a walk through the bush to the campsite and a delicious evening meal cooked over an open fire using seasonal local ingredients. By all accounts, William can include the acquisition of excellent cooking skills among his many achievements. In season, fresh trout smoked over the open fire and enriched with some of the local bush flavours is an example of what is often on the menu.

The camp will be set up on private camping land and durable, good quality tents with camp stretchers are included. William’s adventure destinations are generally within a five hour drive from Sydney, but as they take you away from the beaten track, you may find yourself ‘off the grid’ with limited or no internet connection, so be prepared for a truly relaxing evening with nothing but the sounds of the bush to interrupt your enjoyment of the “white stars fairly blazing” in the beautiful night sky.
