Old Police Station Waterhole Campground is one of the two campsites located in Davenport Range National Park (Iytwellepenty), the first National Park in the Davenport and Murchison Ranges in the Barkly Tablelands. The Park is an important refuge for fauna, especially water birds, due to an extensive network of waterholes. There are 7 defined sited within the camping grounds.
SITE ACCESS
The Old Police Station Waterhole is extensive and may be reached via Kurundi/ Epenara (high clearance vehicle required) or alternatively via the Taylor’s Creek track (4WD vehicle required).
The Park is located south-east of Tennant Creek and can be reached by two main routes:
Via Stuart Highway, turn off at Bonney Well along Kurundi/ Epenarra road or via Stuart Highway, turn off at Taylor Creek along Murray Downs/Hatches Creek road. This is a slower route, but still very scenic.
Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

Camping Fee per night: Adults: $3.30, Child (5-15 years): $1.65
Family (2 adults, 4 children): $7.70

Old Police Station Waterhole is an ideal place for swimming during summer.
Camping, nature lovers and 4WD enthusiasts will love the Davenport Ranges National Park. The area offers excellent opportunities for observing both flora and fauna.
RULES
Firewood collection is not permitted in the park.
Fires are only permitted in designated firepits.
Bins are not provided, please take your rubbish with you.
Permission from the relevant landowner is required before deviating from the public road.
Take care with fire and use firewood sparingly. Use fuel stoves where possible.
