Rest areas are there for you to rest, making your trip safer and more enjoyable.
Rest areas are not long-term camping sites. However, motorists are able to take extended rest breaks at some sites. Rules on the length of stay at rest areas vary between controlling authorities.
Caravans and motorhomes are not considered heavy vehicles, and should not stop at heavy vehicle locations.
Please note: Rest areas are not designed to be camping grounds or caravan parks. Using rest areas for multiple overnight stays as part of a planned itinerary is not in keeping with their intended purpose. Those needing facilities for an extended stay are encouraged to look for camping areas or caravan parks in towns along the way.
FRC is still in the process of obtaining more information about this site.

Gates are CLOSED and locked after 6pm nightly and everyone asked to leave, regular police and security patrols of the parks (2 parks, across the road from each other), toilet block in both parks, BEWARE of snakes in the parks and the river!
Junkies, thieves and rednecks frequent these parks, hence the heavy security/police presence and (now) locked gates. There appears to be an overnight parking area BEHIND the Northbound park but I’m unsure how to access it.
Note from FRC: This is correct for the Rest Area; we have a separate listing as “Tully Park RV Stop” for the area mentioned.
To get to Tully Memorial park, use your navigation unit and type in Beryl Parade North McClean, once on this road follow your nose and it takes you straight to the park, no gates are locked as there are no gates.
The two parks that are across from each other are not the park for the camping and the above one is.
Have to walk a little bit for the toilets and there is no dump point for those who have toilets on board. No place for to fill up with water so come prepared.
