Situated around 150km north-west of Brisbane and around 25km south-east of Kingaroy, the historic town of Nanango is at the junction of the Burnett and D’Aguilar Highways, on one of the old routes from the state’s capital to the rich farming areas of the Darling Downs and the Burnett Valley, and is among Queensland’s oldest established towns. The town boasts a number of heritage listed buildings and the passionate local Historical Society is happy to share the town’s history with visitors.

The Nanango Caravan and Motorhome Park itself is situated just south of town on the D’Aguilar Hwy, and the large, open, grassy sites will accommodate all types of vehicles from trailers to big rigs. There are large grassy sites for the campers, and powered or unpowered sites, with or without slabs, for those travelling in comfort. While many of the sites have good shade available, you’ll still find there is plenty of room to set up the solar panels if you need to.

For those without them on-board, the sites with private en-suite facilities that are clean, practical and user friendly are popular with travellers. Also at the same site are 15 converted, self-contained Ex-Brisbane City Council buses for hire.

A favourite time with many visitors to the park is the happy hour around the campfire.

Well behaved pets are welcome, and there is even an area where they can exercise their humans!

HOW TO GET THERE
