The climate, topography and soil compositions of the Surat Basin area are a perfect combination for the creation of the Myall Park Botanic Garden, with its stunning array of native flora. The tranquil park has numerous trails for the nature lover, with a myriad of birds and wildlife attracted to the flowers and fruits.

We are fortunate to be able to share this National and Queensland Heritage listed property, with its 1950’s style home cottage set in 130 acres of peaceful bushland. Accommodation in the cottage and quarters, and the campground, can be arranged by booking with the park management.

The camping area has powered and unpowered sites with basic facilities and the access to, and planning of, the sites has ensured there is room for everything from tents and trailers right up to the big rigs. Basic supplies can be obtained at Glenmorgan, but stocking up in a larger centre is probably advisable.

Apart from the numerous walking trails to keep you occupied, the park has a fascinating history and an educational program to share. It is also an important research facility for the propagation and preservation of native flora. There is even a lovely gift shop with beautiful floral themed items for sale, which contributes to the upkeep and maintenance of the park.

In order to preserve this precious heritage and educational site, and due to the risk of damage, there is a strict no-smoking, no fires or open bar-b-q’s policy in place, and pets are not allowed in the gardens. Please remember that if you brought it with you, take it with you as there are no rubbish collection points. The gardens themselves are open to visitors from sunrise to sunset between 20th January and 20th December each year.
