Murray Falls Camping Area – Girramay National Park (CG)

One of the prettiest waterfalls in north Queensland

Murray Falls camping area features a large, open, grassy camping area with shady trees. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle.
A number of sites: Open area without separately defined sites.
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, caravans, camper trailers, motor homes, and large groups.
Campsite surface: Grass.

SITE ACCESS
The campsite is at Murray Falls.
From Tully, travel south along the Bruce Highway for 16 kilometers and turn off at Murrigal. Continue for 20 kilometers to Murray Falls. Alternatively, travel 21 kilometers north from Cardwell to Bilyana and turn west for 20 kilometers. Follow the signposts. Access roads are partly sealed and suitable for conventional vehicles.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park, there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Permits are required for all commercial activities or group functions within the park. Advance bookings are recommended for holiday periods.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.85 per person per night or $27.40 per family group per night.
$3.75 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

FACILITIES
Wheelchair-accessible toilets, cold showers, picnic tables, rubbish bins, individual fire rings, and a gas barbecue (located in the day-use area).

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
