The highlight is a 20-acre dam, perfect for non-motorized water sports like kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddleboarding. Though the entry may be a bit muddy, the waters promise refreshing serenity further in.

As night falls, the campground transforms into an enchanting setting under a canopy of stars. Campfires crackle in the background, adding to the atmosphere of this rustic paradise. HOW TO GET THERE
Situated conveniently 45 km south of Townsville and the Magnetic Island ferry terminal, and just 8 km north of Giru, reaching this idyllic campground is a breeze. From Townsville, head south on the Bruce Highway for about 45 minutes. If you’re coming from Ayr, it’s a similar distance to the north. Guests can choose between powered and unpowered sites, ensuring comfort for all camping preferences. Children under 5 years stay free, making it a great family destination. FACILITES
The campground boasts well-maintained facilities including separate men’s and women’s toilets and hot showers. A communal camp kitchen comes equipped with shared fridges, gas rings, a large gas BBQ, toaster, kettle, microwave, and picnic tables. For convenience, there are also coin-operated washing machines. Please note, guests are advised to bring their own cooking gear and utensils.

THINGS TO DO
Apart from relaxing and enjoying the wildlife, guests can indulge in various water sports on the dam. The area is also ideal for bird watching, hiking, and stargazing at night. The nearby towns of Townsville and Giru offer additional attractions for day trips.

GUIDELINES
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, guests are asked to keep pets on a leash and under control. While campfires are allowed, fire safety guidelines must be followed. Guests are also reminded to bring mosquito and sandfly repellent, especially when camping near the lake.
