Many showgrounds offer affordable and convenient locations to camp, especially for larger RV\’s. Many will also permit pets. However, many showgrounds are closed at certain times of the year due to the Annual Show or other events. It is always best to check their web site or call ahead to avoid disappointment.
The Moree Showground welcomes campers of all types. The showgrounds are conveniently located a short drive to the town area.
HOW TO GET THERE
Moree is on the Newell Highway which now bypasses the town centre. From the bypass, and between the two ninety degree turns,at the corner of the bushland, go North into Warialda Street and straight on at the end into the Showground entrance.
SITE ACCESS
The camping area is immediately to your left with power boxes and taps to allow you to pick a powered or unpowered spot. The caretaker usually comes around in the late afternoon.
FEES & BOOKINGS
$28 per night for powered, $20 unpowered; stay 7 and pay for 5. Please make sure you pay at the house on site.
FACILITIES
There is a well maintained toilet and shower block here.
THINGS TO DO
Moree has several \”things to see\” including the Mehi Murri Art Studio, a Historical Cemetery and the nearby Gwydir Wetlands.

I have stayed here many times. It is very good. One thing everyone should do is visit the council’s spa baths. There is a special one there with sauna and a whole lot of surprises. Best public spa baths in Australia.
