Rest area near shops and services.
The Monto Community 72 hour Rest area was established by the Monto Business Community in 2015.
The area is set up within the grounds of the unused Railway yards. It is located right in town at the bottom of the main street behind the Information Centre. It is a large area and will accommodate a full range of vehicles, right up to Big Rigs. The sites are all un-powered and pets are welcome. There is also a Camp Host on site to collect fees and tell you more about the area.
SITE ACCESS
Access is directly off the Gladstone-Monto Road at the entrance to the Railway Yard located at the Information Center. The site is in the heart of town and there is plenty of room to maneuver.
FEES
Fees are $5 per site per night
THINGS TO DO
Monto is a fully serviced town including medical facilities, hardware, Pubs, Clubs and a laundromat. There is also good Fishing at the Cania Dam, and magnificent walks through the Cania Gorge National Park.
