Aptly named Mia Mia State Forest, meaning view or lookout, sits nestled in the foothills of the Clarke Range. There are no defined camping areas in Mia Mia State Forest however bush camping is permitted in this open eucalypt forest. Walk-in bush camping or access by 4WD vehicles, motor cycles, trailbikes and bicycles.
Number of sites: undefined. Choose camp locations to minimise damage to vegetation. Maximum number of 80 people can camp throughout the park at one time.
Camp sites are suitable for: walk-in camping, tent camping beside your vehicle.
Camp site surface: natural ground surface, no defined/cleared sites.

SITE ACCESS
Mia Mia is west of Mackay. Turn off the Mackay-Eungella road at Pinnacle and drive 20km south-west through the forest. The rough, gravel access road is suitable for 4WD vehicles only. Roads may be closed in wet weather or high fire danger periods.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Obtain your camping permit before you arrive.
Fees for camping permits are:
$5.75 per person per night or $23.00 per family group per night.
$3.20 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
