Mambray Creek Campground – Mount Remarkable National Park (CG)

Mambray Creek is a well-established campground set among the River Red Gums. The sites are level, and suitable for caravans, camper trailers and other large vehicles. There are a total of 54 designated sites in this campground.
A popular destination for bushwalking and camping, Mount Remarkable National Park’s dramatic gorges, walking trails and diverse wildlife is just the beginning of its appeal. The park features the 960m high Mount Remarkable Summit which can be reached along the Mount Remarkable Summit Hike from Melrose, providing impressive views of Willochra Plain and Spencer Gulf.

SITE ACCESS
Mount Remarkable National Park is located 45km north of Port Pirie. Access from National Highway one is via the park headquarters at Mambray Creek (5km) or a picturesque drive commencing 1km south of Wilmington on Main North Rd to Alligator Gorge (13km).
Walking access is provided from Melrose, which lies at the foot of Mount Remarkable.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES
From $18 per vehicle.
All sites at Mambray Creek and Baroota Ruins must be booked and paid for online.
Park entry fees also apply.

Many National Parks in South Australia require a Park Pass to enter. The prices for the Park Parks may vary. Read more about FEES & PARK PASSES.

FACILITIES
The toilets are wheelchair accessible and there are heated showers, a baby change room and communal fireplaces.

THINGS TO DO
Autumn to spring is the best time to visit the park when the weather is mild and vegetation and wildlife thriving. The extensive walking trails provide the perfect opportunity to explore the park’s diverse habitats, from the red quartzite gorges, watercourses lined with river red gums to grassy woodlands and high ridges. Along the walking trails you may see the western gray kangaroos and emus that roaming freely throughout the park. Watch out for the echidnas in spring or the protected yellow-footed rock-wallabies.

Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
