Situated 40 kms West of Casino, just off the Bruxner Highway, Mallanganee is one of the Kyogle Shires rainforest gateways. One and a half hours drive from Ballina, and 1 hour from Lismore, the village is set just below the Richmond Range.
There is a small area at the oval for Fully Self Contained Vehicles.
Views from the Mallanganee Lookout are spectacular, with Mt Warning visible on the eastern horizon. There are rainforests and flora reserves close by, with the Mallanganee National Park itself being a very rare example of a dry land rainforest.
Today, the village is a peaceful haven, well away from crowds and traffic.
A perfect spot for a picnic in the beautiful Everson Park, a coffee and snack at the Moon River Cafe, a quiet drink at the local pub or ice cream and drink at the General Store, Mallanganee is a step back in time to when life was simple and uncomplicated.
