M.V. Natone camping area is one of 5 camping areas on the Inskip Peninsular. It is located behind the foredunes, off Inskip Point Road. This is the third camping area after the entrance of the recreation area. If offers open camping area behind the foredunes. There are no formally defined sites. It is only a short walk to the surf beach. Sites are scattered amongst the trees, with some amazing sites right up to the beach front with stunning views. It is not advisable for trailers, caravans or buses, but we did see a few smaller vans that managed to get in. There are some low hanging branches in some sections. The maximum length of stay is 30 nights, dogs are permitted but must remain on a leash and under control at all times.

Beach she-oaks, cypress pine and other coastal trees and shrubs shade Inskip Peninsula’s camping areas, which are ringed by open ocean beaches and sheltered estuary shores-all within 15 minutes’ drive of Rainbow Beach. Wind and water conditions generally become calmer in areas where the peninsula curves westward towards Great Sandy Strait.

SITE ACCESS
This is the third campsite on the right as you come into the entrance of the recreation area. It is recommended for 4WD only, and has a reasonably long track in through very soft to the camp sites. There are separate entrance and exit points with the main track doing a full circuit of the site.

From Rainbow beach take Clarkson Drive and travel for about 10km to the start of the camp sites. The camp sites are all along the peninsular on the right hand side. Each has a clearly marked entrance.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
