Lower Davies Creek camping area – Davies Creek and Dinden National Parks (CG)

Lower Davies Creek camping area is nestled among granite boulders in open woodland beside the crystal clear waters of Davies Creek. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehiclethe road is not suitable for caravans or large motorhomes. Vehicles cannot be driven onto the camp sites beside the creek it is necessary to park in one of the car parking areas and walk a short distance to these camp sites.
Number of sites: eight sites (separate but not numbered) with a maximum of 10 people per group.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping a short distance away from your car. Small campervans are allowed in the car parking areas but cannot be driven onto the camp sites.
Camp site surface: granite gravel, dirt and sand.
Shade: partial shade

SITE ACCESS
Davies Creek National Park6.2km from the Kennedy Highway, just off Davies Creek Road. Davies Creek Falls circuit track is 2km past the camping area. For most of the year this section of road is accessible to conventional vehicles.
Davies Creek national park is on the Atherton Tableland. From Cairns, travel towards Kuranda via the Kennedy Highway. After passing the Kuranda turn-off, travel a further 21km before turning left on to Davies Creek Road. This gravel road is corrugated and unsuitable for caravans.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Bookings are essential and are required well in advance for these popular camp sites.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free. Read more about CAMPING COSTS & BOOKINGS.

FACILITIES
Picnic tables and wheelchair-accessible toilets.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
