A GEM AMONGST THE GEMS!
Tingha Gems Caravan Park is located in the village of Tingha, around 25km south of Inverell. Our park is in a quiet, tranquil spot away from main roads, and provides an ideal location to come and relax. Tingha Gems Caravan Park is in a beautiful setting, right next to Tingha’s Swimming Hole.
We offer powered and unpowered sites, which are suitable for all types of RV vehicles. We offer clean amenities, laundry and camp kitchen, and our park is pet-friendly. To relax, you can swim in Tingha’s swimming hole, a large man-made lake which was once a tin mining excavation. Tingha Caravan Park is a quiet, community-run bush park, perfect for those who enjoy fossicking, a campfire or just relaxing in a beautiful, quiet setting as the sun sets over the lake.

THINGS TO DO
For a fascinating insight in the history of Tingha, visit the Wing Hing Long Museum, an early 19th Century general store that was owned by the same Chinese family for over 80 years. The building and fittings have remained mostly intact from the early 1900s and is one of the few buildings left in Tingha from the tin-mining boom era. The interior of the store captures what rural general stores used to be like, as well as containing items from Tingha’s Chinese and tin mining history. Devonshire teas and souvenirs can be purchased at the museum. 10km from Tingha, Green Valley Farm houses Tingha’s old Smith’s Museum collection, filled with interesting and unusual artefacts and animals, as well as beautiful gardens, a range of rides and waterslide and great kiosk. Tingha is well known for fossicking and we can arrange the perfect fossicking tour for you. For fishing, picnic or BBQ, there are a number of great fishing spots close to the park, or you can visit nearby Copeton Dam, or the Moredun Ponds, where you can see, feed or catch yellowbelly, cod and silver perch. For those interested in buying fresh honey, we can put you in touch with Cooper’s Honey Farm. New England Woodturning is a short drive from Tingha, with a wonderful range of interesting wood products and gifts on display, all made by the owner, Rob Day. Rob also makes and plays didgeridoos and his own quirky oddgeridoos. Tingha is surrounded by over 2000 acres of open common, which is great for 4-wheel drivers, motor cyclists and fossickers. There are also a number of State Forests and conservation areas close by.
