Planet Earth Adventures

Located halfway between Cairns and Karumba, Planet Earth Adventures can be found in the small town of Mount Surprise on the Savannah Way. Surprise yourself with the start of your outback trip in a relaxed, informal  and spacious, grassy park, offering basic and clean facilities and welcomed by your friendly host Russell. Stop stay and relax before resuming your travels. Weather in the winter months is just perfect with a coolish morning becoming a perfect day with an average of 24 degrees during the day. THINGS TO DO
Mount Surprise is the perfect base to enjoy so much of what the region has to offer. You are just 55km from the amazing Undara Lava Tubes and Volcanic National Park. Explore these amazing geological sites. You can also visit the stunning O’Brien’s Creek and Gem Fields where you can dig for topaz and aquamarine or enjoy the walking track to Elizabeth Creek. Mount Surprise is 85km from the Copper Field Gorge, a natural and spectacular Gorge. If you want a bit more adventure why not book a trip on the amazing Savannahlander Train that runs from Karumba to Cairns (return).
