OVERVIEW
When we rolled into Inverell Caravan Park, the first thing that struck me was how green and settled it feels – tucked into leafy grounds right on the banks of the Macintyre River, yet only a short stroll from the heart of the Sapphire City. This is one of those rare parks where you can have the quiet of the riverbank and the convenience of town in the same breath. Pull a chair out, listen to the birds in the gardens, and you’d never guess the cafes, pubs and shops of Inverell are barely a few hundred metres away.
The park is run by managers Hayley and Liam, and their care shows in every corner. The lawns are trimmed, the gardens are loved (there are even a couple of raised herb beds where you can help yourself), and the whole place carries that welcoming, well-kept feel that keeps caravanners coming back season after season. It’s a compact park rather than a sprawling resort, and that’s part of its charm – you get personal service and a genuinely peaceful stay instead of being lost in the crowd.
For accommodation, there’s real variety here. Fully self-contained cabins range from roomy Deluxe family options through to cosy Compact cabins, all with private ensuites, reverse cycle air conditioning, and linen and towels supplied so you can arrive with nothing and still feel at home. If you’re towing, the powered sites are mostly level double concrete slabs with water and wastewater drainage, and a few are long enough to stay hitched to the tow vehicle. Prefer canvas and stars? There’s a quiet grassy camping area for that too.
A few touches lift this place above the average overnight stop. There’s an inground saltwater pool for hot Northern Tablelands afternoons, a covered BBQ area and camp kitchen for easy dinners, and a back gate that opens straight onto the riverside walking and cycling path – perfect for a morning wander or an evening ride along the Macintyre. It’s pet friendly as well, with an off-leash area right beside the park, so the family dog doesn’t have to miss out.
As a Kui Parks member park, it also rewards fellow members with a tidy discount, which is a nice bonus for those of us who travel a lot. Whether you’re chasing sapphires, exploring the New England region, or just need a comfortable, friendly base for a night or a week, Inverell Caravan Park makes an easy place to drop anchor. I left genuinely understanding why the reviews rate it so highly.
Inverell Caravan Park is situated on the beautiful McIntyre River, with a large variety of trees and birdlife. We provide clean and accessible amenities, laundry facilities, large spacious sites on full size slabs and grass sites, as well as a range of cabins.
At Inverell Caravan Park we also have a salt-water swimming pool and covered BBQ area for you to enjoy. We are pet friendly and your pets can enjoy the designated off-leash area adjoining our park. We are the closest caravan park to the town centre and only 200m from the bowling club.

HOW TO GET THERE
Inverell sits in the New England / Northern Tablelands region of north-western NSW, on the Gwydir Highway, beside the Macintyre River. Inverell Caravan Park is at 21 Glen Innes Road, on the eastern approach into town, just a few hundred metres from the town centre.
Coming from the east, follow the Gwydir Highway (B76) west from Glen Innes for about 67 km. As you reach the edge of Inverell the highway becomes Glen Innes Road, and the park is on this road close to town, on the river side – look for the entrance at number 21.
From the south, the easiest route is via Fossickers Way and the New England Highway through Tamworth, then on into Inverell. For longer hauls, Inverell is roughly 7 hours’ drive from Sydney and around 4.5 hours from Brisbane. Once you reach town, the park is an easy, well-signed find right on Glen Innes Road.
