Conveniently located on the highway two blocks from the centre of St George, Kamarooka Tourist Park has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are 24 level, grassy sites, some of which are drive-through. All have power connected and are suitable for caravans, average-sized motorhomes and tents. The park can also accommodate larger motorhomes, but you’ll need to contact them before arriving to make sure they can fit you in. There are also 16 self-contained one and two bedroom cabins available.
The clean, modern amenities block is situated close to all sites, and there is a well-equipped laundry and dump point to make life on the road that little bit easier for guests.
The park also features a camp kitchen and barbecue area, a great place to spend some time in the evenings getting together with fellow travellers for a chat.
If you need some provisions, there’s a mini supermarket just across the road, as well as larger supermarkets, other stores and eateries within walking distance in the town centre.
HOW TO GET THERE
The park is located on Victoria Street (Balonne/Carnarvon Highway) between Balonne and Church streets. If you’re coming into St George from the north or east, the park is on the left after Church Street. If coming from the south or west, follow Victoria Street through the shopping area to Church Street then do a U-turn to get to the park.
SITE ACCESS
There are sites suitable for everything up to large motorhomes. Call into the office, located at the front of the park, on arrival. If you arrive after hours, just press the doorbell.

THINGS TO DO
There is plenty to see and do in and around St George. Just one block from the Kamarooka Tourist Park is the Balonne River, which is popular for fishing and skiing. You can enjoy a picnic or barbecue on the landscaped riverbank or take a cruise along the river. For some exercise, follow either the riverbank walkway or the town’s heritage trail.
An interesting route out of town is the cotton self-drive trail, which also takes in EJ Beardmore Dam, or you can take a guided cotton farm and winery tour. For a taste of local art, visit Unique Egg to see an amazing display of carved emu eggs.
