The town of Junee lies in the Riverina area of NSW, just north of Wagga and the Murrumbidgee River. The history and some of the architecture date back to the old gold rush days.
The Junee Golf Club Campground is a quiet attractive flat area, with a footpath and bike path to the central business district, which is only an easy 800m away. The pet friendly site has powered and unpowered sites with 24 hour toilets to be opened by a combination lock, code will be provided upon arrival. Drinking water is also available, please use sparingly. The campground, sitting adjacent to the club, is suitable for big rigs, motor homes, caravans, camper trailers, and tents. It also offers a pleasant walk around the golf course, with golf almost anytime (18 holes).
Junee itself has a wealth of local history, which can be enjoyed at places like the interesting Railway Museum and the haunted Monte Cristo Homestead. For the sweet-toothed, the Chocolate & Licorice factory may tempt. The township of Wagga is an easy ½ hour drive away as well, so this site is well suited to those looking for a comfortable base to explore from. Anyone who follows the NRL may want to visit the Ray (Rabbits) Warren statue in town, and would remember that Laurie Daly grew up here as well.
HOW TO GET THERE
Junee lies between Wagga Wagga and Cootamundra on the A41, it is also South of Temora via the B85. From Wagga (or Temora) drive through the town and at the roundabout follow the highway over the railway line then immediately turn right (towards the Station). From Cootamundra follow the railway (on your right) and where the highway turns right to cross the railway go straight ahead (towards the Station).
From this common point take the first left before entering the station and then first right into Lorne Street. After 200m turn left into Belmore Street which becomes Gundagai Road, after 600m veer slightly left into Golf Road and turn left into the entrance.
