Illaroo group camping area, which offers simple and convenient online booking, is the ideal campground for groups of 20 to 35 looking for an exclusive camping experience. A gated area with easy pin code access means that all you’ll need to remember when heading to the beach is your surfboard, sunscreen and snack for breaks between waves.
Perfect for families and friends, Illaroo group camping area is a great place to meet for an affordable coastal holiday near Grafton. You’ll want to pack boogie boards, surfboards and your swimmers as they’ll all be put to good use here. Make sure you take your fishing rod to catch your dinner from the beach, which you can cook up on your own gas barbecue.
Wooli and Grafton are nearby, so if you’ve not managed to make the catch of the day, you can venture into town to stock up on supplies.
There is also a general camping area at the Illaroo campground.
SITE ACCESS
Unsealed road/trail – 2WD vehicles – All weather.
Illaroo campground is in the Minnie Water precinct of Yuraygir National Park. To get there from Grafton drive about 12km southwest on the Pacific Highway. Turn left at Eight Mile Lane. Follow Eight Mile Lane as it becomes Wolli Rd (keep right) for another 28km and turn left at left at Minnie Water Road. Continue for about 7km and turn left at Sandon Road. The campground will be ahead in just over a kilometre.
Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Vehicle entry fee: $7 per vehicle per day. Please note vehicle entrance fees are not included in your accommodation or camping fees. Purchase at the local office or buy an annual pass online. Camping Group camping area site fee: $250 per night including 20 people (site maximum 35). Additional occupants are: $10 per night per adult (16 years+), $5 per night per child (5-15 years), infants free (0-4 years).
Reservations can be made for any arrival within the next 12 months. The group campsite is unpowered. Illaroo group camping area accommodates groups of up to 35 people and can be booked for exclusive use. The minimum number to camp is 20 people.
The site may only be occupied by the number of people specified in the reservation.
Check-in 12pm midday, check-out 12pm midday.

RULES
Campfires are only permitted in designated fire ring. Beach fires are not permitted.
Firewood is supplied for fireplaces on a user-pays basis.
Mobile phone reception is intermittent.
Generators are not permitted.
Drinking water is available from the roadside tap at the turn off to the campground.
NSW National Parks are now no smoking areas. Pets are not permitted.
Strong rips and currents may be present at the beach – take care in the water and please supervise children at all times.
A current NSW recreational fishing license is required when fishing in all waters.
You can access the beach with your 4WD. There is no beach access for vehicles south of the Sandon beach access.
