Looking for a lazy beach break with easy access to Point Lookout?

The smallest of North Stradbroke’s campgrounds, Home Beach has 24 campsites, with a fairly even split of powered and unpowered sites. Everything from caravans to tents is catered for. Like many of the island’s other parks, it has showers and toilets, a washing machine, and a sink for washing dishes, together with a BBQ and picnic area. Surrounded by plenty of trees and other vegetation, the area is protected from the wind, and sites may be shaded or sunny depending on the time of day. The north-facing beach is just a short walk away through the trees. The campground is located on the western edge of Point Lookout township, so if you want to grab a meal or coffee or you need some campsite supplies you won’t need to venture too far.

There are 12 unpowered tents and campervan/trailer/caravan sites

HOW TO GET THERE
The campground is located on the north-eastern side of the island, near point lookout.

FEES & BOOKING
Fee is from $49/night per couple for unpowered sites, $49/night per couple for powered sites.

RULES
Fires are prohibited.
No pets are allowed.

THINGS TO DO
The site is ideally situated close to the beach making it the best spot for a lazy afternoon walk. One may also enjoy the Mulumba Guided Gorge Walk, a guided gorge walk which tells the ancient stories of how the Aboriginal People have survived and thrived.

Other land-based activities are Bush Walking, Heritage Walks, Cycling, Golf, Lawn Bowls, and Scooter Hire.

Water-based activities are Scuba Diving & Snorkelling, Stand up Paddle, Surfing, Swimming, and Fishing.
