Looking for a camp on the banks of the Clyde River?
Hamilton Campground has a good range of facilities provided by the Central Highlands Council. It is a small area on the banks of the Clyde River; Hamilton has no retail shopping but does have a Cafe and the Hamilton Inn, both with restricted trading hours. A small museum adjacent to the Council Offices has a small display of photographs and history of the town free entry. Adjacent to the campground is a walking trail along the Clyde River where Platypus can be seen.
HOW TO GET THERE
Hamilton is located 73km West of Hobart on the Lyell Highway. Turn right off the Highway just past the Post Office then turn hard right into River Street, The campground is 100m ahead on the left.
FEES & BOOKING
Fee is from $5/night per vehicle payable via self-registration at the toilet block.

Toilet facilities, showers, laundry area, picnic tables, water tap, BBQ area, playground, rubbish bins, and dump point.

THINGS TO DO
Relax or stroll along the Clyde River walk and may get lucky to see a platypus. It is also a great spot to base and explore the local attractions and nearby surroundings.
