Groper Creek is located 17km south of the sugar cane district of Home Hill in North Queensland. Groper Creek Caravan Park is surrounded by a very small community which makes it very quiet and laid back. There’s no noise except for the wind, wildlife and water lapping on the shore.

The area has powered and unpowered sites available for caravans, campers, and motorhomes. The park also offers 2 flats for rent for an alternative accommodation. With awesome facilities, the park is a great place to sit back, relax, and unwind.

HOW TO GET THERE
At the Southern end of Home Hill turn East into First Street then take the first right into Daveniza Road, This becomes groper Creek Road, contimue to the end and bear right into Hinkson Esplanade; the caravan park is ahead on the left.

Camping fee for unpowered site is $24/ couple per night and $29/ couple per night for powered sites. Extra person over 5 years old is $5.

Fishing
Groper Creek is famous for fishing! It was named after it. Groper Creek has great land based fishing directly in front of the camping grounds on the rocky banks, or on the very popular jetty, which is perfect for family fishing and night fishing. For the boat fisherman Groper Creek is a very large estuary system which you would need weeks to explore and even more time to fish!

Wildlife watchings – birds
Groper Creek has an abundance of wildlife, especially many breeds of birds.

Crabbing
\Do not forget your crab pots when you come to Groper Creek! 

Prawning
Groper Creek is a large estuary system with many mangrove lined creeks and gutways that not only hold good fish, but at certain times of the year hold large quantities of good sized prawns.

Boating
Groper Creek runs off the mighty Burdekin River and is a very large system of mangrove lined creeks and Bays. There is beautiful scenery with spectacular wildlife all around. Make sure you take care on the water and respect other boaties.

Above reproach…site were immaculate…toilets and showers were in pristine condition…tables and amenities were spotless and well maintained…a 150% Dan and his Mrs..absolutely a piece of heaven
