Quiet little stop with lots of native wild life.
Located just 1.5 km off the Warrego Highway at Morven and set in a quiet little spot where overcrowding is not a problem. Gidgee’s is a working farm with lots of native wildlife, stud goats and sheep. There are also horses, working dogs, chooks, and usually a poddy calf, lamb, and goat or two.
The campgrounds however are only open from April to September 7 days a week. They are set on 180 acres of freehold land and stage 1 of the project is set on 10 acres. There are no powered sites at this stage. Campers must be self-contained with their own shower, however, there is a drop toilet that can be used. Wash up water and drinking water is available in the camp kitchen. Van fills up will need to be done in down.
There is additional grazing property that is not attached to the camping grounds and as a bonus, there is a morning meeting area filled with rustic memorabilia complete with a retro coffee trailer called Kill for a Cuppa which is open from 9 am to 12noon Monday to Friday. Guests are also able to use the coffee shop most weekends by arrangement. Some weekends the coffee shop is also open to the public and for workshops.
