Often referred to as the Pride of Sydenham, the General Gordon has been an integral part of the local community for over 80 years. Situated directly opposite the Sydenham train station and steeped in history, the Hotel was named after General Sir Charles George Gordon (1833 to 1885).
Campers are welcome here and they even have the camp oven cook-off done yearly as General Gordon celebrates its birthday. They also have a lovely outdoor, undercover area with great wooden furniture as well. Darts seem to be the favourite past time of the locals and playing such would go well with the pub’s counter meals such as chips, pies and burgers. A visit to this hotel is surely worth the trip.
