This help-out opportunity is organised via Outback Links. It is a great opportunity to Help Out someone in the Garah area. In return, you will be provided with a place to park your RV at no cost. In some cases, but not all, facilities including power and water may be available. This will be confirmed upon application.
Activities: Help with ticking off some outstanding jobs would be very much appreciated by this husband and wife super duo, running their property for wool and meat all on their own.
A specific project that they would love some help with is restoring their shearer’s quarters as they have no accommodation on the farm and they want to reduce the individual bedrooms and convert the main room into a kitchen and lounge/dining area. They have a demountable toilet/shower ready to be put in place and plumbed. They also have a woolshed which needs restumping in parts and some flooring replaced.
Assistance with general small welding jobs- repairing feeders and small trailers. Someone familiar with motor mechanics to look at some motors on the farm and give things a general going over. And even some help with garden maintenance would be greatly appreciated!
There is a lot that can be done so anyone with any experience is welcome to reach out!
IMPORTANT NOTE – before volunteering all volunteers need to be registered with Outback Links and have an up-to-date Working with Children Check and National Police Check. To volunteer, please apply here and contact Outback Links ASAP to arrange the checks, as they can take some time to process.
