RECENTLY OPENED
The recently opened Fraser Coast RV Park in River Heads is the ideal place to stay if you’re heading to the Fraser Coast for a spot of fishing, a visit to Fraser Island or to see the whales in whale watching season. Nestled on 75 acres of natural bushland, this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day exploring the Fraser Coast region.

Fraser Coast RV Park is situated just 15 minutes from Hervey Bay and within minutes to the local boat ramp and ferry service to Fraser Island. Catering for campers who are self sufficient or fully self contained, owners Suzanne and Paul also offer a unique and beautifully designed self contained cabin called ‘Mango Lodge’.

The campground is pet friendly with powered and unpowered sites suitable for tent campers right through to larger RV’s and buses. The bush surroundings provide plenty of shade to camp under or choose a spot in the sun if you want to use your solar. The flat open spaces mean there is ample room for families, groups and for couples who want that extra bit of privacy.

The Bush Kitchen has a gas cooktop, sink, fridge, toaster and kettle and is available for campers to use and campers can also book a site with access to use the amenities (See Fees and Bookings). The Wallaby Wash House amenities are wheelchair accessible and include a shower, toilets and a laundry. Located near the bush kitchen is a large communal campfire, great for sharing stories and meeting fellow travellers. Other smaller designated campfire areas are scattered around the property with plenty of wood, sticks and branches for you to collect and use.

Mango Lodge
This amazing solid timber slab cabin is a totally unique getaway, specifically created to give you that true Australian experience. Mango Lodge is self contained and perfect for couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and a great place to relax, unwind and refresh, especially before or after your trip to Fraser Island. The lodge has also been designed to cater for disabled guests and includes wheelchair access.

Mango Lodge is beautiful both inside and out. The inside is decorated with beautifully hand crafted timber furniture, a 150 year old wood stove, a functioning antique radio, and a genuine Genoa lounge suite. There is a gas BBQ on the back veranda. Simply relax in the peace and tranquility, listen to the birds, watch the kangaroos and enjoy the magnificent sunsets as you sip on a glass of wine while you soak in the deep claw foot bath on the outback porch, overlooking the 100 year old Mango tree.

If you are visiting Fraser Island or staying at the Kingfisher Bay Resort, you can leave your van or vehicle at the campground. Suzanne and Paul provide their guests with a shuttle service to the ferry, and airport transfers if you are staying at Mango Lodge.

The River Heads Shopping Village is just 3 minutes up the road with an IGA for groceries, essentials and gas. The Village also has an ATM, Chemist and a Real Estate. Grab a coffee or a bite to eat at VK’s Cafe & Takeaway. VK’s is a lovely little cafe with uninterrupted views that overlook the Mary & Susan Rivers. Opposite the shops is the local club who have a great menu and are open on Friday nights.
