Amazing campsite by the river
Franklin Camping Ground charges a fee for staying. Volunteers from the local Palais Theatre manage the site and all funds go towards theatre improvements and maintenance. Only fully self-contained vehicles are permitted (must include own toilet) – and no tents are allowed. The site has no facilities but there are nearby public picnic tables and BBQs, toilets, and a dump point. Drinking water is also available to fill tanks. The historic town of Franklin has a hotel, cafes, and specialty shops and is the home of the historic Wooden Boat Centre.
