If you’re looking for a place to camp in the Bathurst area, look no further.
Flat Rocks free campground is a large grassed area set on the Fish River. It is found about 20 minutes drive from the town of O’connell about 22km southeast of Bathurst. This free pet-friendly site is council run and has basic facilities like toilets, fire pits and bins. You will be required to bring your own wood, water gas etc.
HOW TO GET THERE
Off the Greater Western Hwy, at Kelso heading into Bathurst from Lithgow/Sydney, take a left into Littlebourne Street. This soon becomes O’Connell Rd. Follow O’Connell Rd 17Km out to the Village of O’Connell. At O’Connell turn left onto Mutton Falls Road and follow it out to the camp ground that will be on your left.
