Cotter Campground (CG)

Cotter Campground is set on the banks of the beautiful Cotter River and near the confluence with the Murrumbidgee River. A cool retreat in summer, and filled with colourful deciduous trees in autumn. It is the most highly serviced bush campground in the ACT, just 14 kilometres from Weston Creek Shopping Centre. The campground caters for a wide range of camping styles from swags to camper trailers to large vans and is suitable for groups of up to ten people.

HOW TO GET THERE
Located off Cotter Road 25 minutes west of Canberra city centre and 14 kilometres from Weston Creek Shopping Centre.  Take Cotter Road from the Tuggeranong Parkway and follow it until you cross the Murrumbidgee River.  The road bends sharp left and the Campground is on your left in 250m

FEES & BOOKINGS
Adult $15, Senior $12, Concession/Student $10, Children (14 years and under) free. All fees are per person per night.
Fees can be paid to the rangers or left in the honesty box at the entrance. Site bookings are not required or taken at this site.

RULES
Bring your firewood with you. Collection of standing or fallen timber from all public lands, including roadsides, is illegal and environmentally damaging, as it removes important habitat.
Be aware that phone reception is not reliable throughout the Murrumbidgee River Corridor. Do not depend on your phone for safety or directions.
Please check the water quality conditions before you go swimming

THINGS TO DO
Cotter Campground provides easy access to walking trails, wildlife, fishing, swimming, canoeing and relaxing. It’s also an easy drive to the scenic Brindabella Mountains and northern Namadgi National Park. Use it as a base to explore the nearby Cotter Dam, Cotter Avenue and Cotter Bend or to travel further afield to explore Stromlo Forest Park, Tidbinbilla Deep Space Communication Centre, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and Tharwa Village. For those who have come from out of town, Cotter Campground is only a 20 minute drive back into the city to explore the many attractions that Canberra has to offer.
