The Cooyar Swing Bridge Park is an ideal free camp located right in the small township of Cooyar. With no phone reception, it is an ideal place to hide away for a while. The Cooyar Creek is on both sides of the site which has a long flat grassy area offering plenty of room to spread out. It is ideal for all types of camping from tents right up to big rigs. There are tall gums scattered throughout and it has a very pleasant outlook with a large suspension bridge that crosses the creek. There are several picnic tables and small shelters through the site and a few small water tanks with non-potable water, depending on rain. A small playground is also on the site.
SITE ACCESS
Access is via Munro Street, which runs behind the Cooyar pub on the corner. Turn right into Fergus Street, then follow to the end where you will see a sign to the entrance.
FACILITIES
There are also several power outlets to use but there is a small fee to use them and the fee is payable at the pub. The toilets are located about a 300mtr walk away at the local park, which is opposite the pub. The Pub also offers hot showers for a small fee.
THINGS TO DO
Cooyar is a very small community with a great old Pub and small cafe and General Store.
