Set up camp in beautiful rainforest surrounds just a short walk from your car at Coombadjha campground. This easily accessed rainforest retreat makes an excellent base for a couple of days exploring the World Heritage delights of Washpool National Park.
After you’ve set up your tent, stretch your legs along the short and easy Coombadjha nature stroll or spend the day discovering the beautiful 8.5km Washpool walk, a circuit that climbs through rainforest and dry forest before descending to cross Coombadjha creek. You’ll see rare giant red cedar, coachwood, crabapple, figs and lilly pillies, a special feature of this walk. There are also many places for quiet contemplation along the way, like the pretty Summit falls.
Coombadjha campground is a wonderful location for rainforest ambles and spotting wildlife. On warmer days, you’ll relish cooling off in Coombadjha creek’s natural swimming pool.

Washpool National Park is located off the Gwydir Highway between Grafton and Glen Innes. To get to Coombadjha campground:
Take the Gwydir Highway from Glen Innes or Grafton. Take the Coachwood Drive turnoff and follow to Coombadjha campground.
Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Vehicle entry fee: $7 per vehicle per day. Please note vehicle entrance fees are not included in your accommodation or camping fees. Purchase at the local office or buy an annual pass online.
Camping $5 per night per adult (16 years+), $3 per night per child (5-15 years), infants free (0-4 years).
Some National Parks require Fees to Enter the Park. For full details see PASSES & FEES.

RULES
There are no marked sites. at this campground and bookings are not available.
Limited water is available at this campground so it’s a good idea to bring your own supply or take water from the creek, although you’ll need to boil or treat it before drinking.
Visitors are encouraged to bring gas or liquid fuel stoves for camping, especially in summer during the fire season.
Please do not feed the wildlife – it can damage their health and make them dependent on campers for food. It’s a good idea to store food and garbage in a secure container to avoid attracting scavengers.
