Cooks Mill is one of several camp grounds located within the Cathedral Range State Park. It is a shady campground by the river. Sites are suitable for tents, camper-trailers, campervans, small caravans and recreational vehicles. Individual sites are not reserved, you may select your campsite(s) within the campground on arrival.

Featuring a spectacular 7 km rugged rocky ridge and rich natural and cultural heritage, the Cathedral Range is a special place. This 3577 ha park offers you a range of activities from relaxed camping by a clear mountain steam to an exciting climb to its high exposed peaks

SITE ACCESS
The park is about 100 km north east of Melbourne, east of Maroondah Highway between Taggerty and Buxton. The main approach along Cathedral Lane is signposted on the highway. Roads within the park are not suitable for coaches.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance or as close to the camp site as possible. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FACILITIES
Cooks Mill is equipped with basic facilities including pit toilets, picnic tables, shelter and fireplaces. The fireplaces do not include a cooking plate so campers will need to bring their own. Please remember that firewood collection is prohibited in the park. Be self-sufficient with drinking water. Carry it in or know how to make untreated water safe for drinking.

RULES
All the plants and animals in the park are protected. Leave the park as you find it.
Bins are not provided. Please take your rubbish with you.
Firearms are only permitted in the park according to hunting regulations. Please refer to the hunting page.
Solid fuel stoves are not permitted. Use a portable gas stove instead.
Campsites must be at least 20 metres from waterways.
Toilet waste must be buried to a depth of at least 15cm and at least 100m away from waterways.
Dispose of soap and detergent at least 50m from waterways.
Keep to designated tracks.
Vehicles and motorbikes may be used only on roads open to public vehicles. All vehicles must be registered and drivers licensed.
